So apparently this past Sunday was a full moon, something I made no note of until reading an earlier post here. That rather explains this mild but repetitive suck, that usually happens no more than once a shift.

Do you actually *say* "Could you please scoot that over here" or whatever?

Some people genuinely do suck rusty boulders at *any* kind of nonverbal communication, even when you think you're being extremely obvious.

Often they were speaking to someone else, either on the phone or a shopping buddy. (shrugs) And a lot of people tend to treat the average cashier like a service, without independent life of their own, beneath their notice.
