Hi, I saw your post on one of the teaching communities - I think it was 1st_yr_teachers. First of all, congratulations on getting a job and good luck tomorrow! I'm sure everything will work out fine! Second of all, I was wondering if I could add you to my friends list? I'm also from a Yankee state (NY) and am considering relocating to NC for a job (and I was actually thinking about Cary! haha) I've heard there's a lot of relocated yankees in that area. If I don't get down there this year, it is a definite possibility next year for various reasons so I'd love to see your input and how you like it down there.

Also, I have a 2nd interview coming up this week that I REALLY hope goes really well and if so - I may be teaching 5th grade as well!

GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN tomorrow!!!! :-)

Jess

Thanks! I had to go through a TON of interviews, but it all worked out.

Definitely, I love making teacher friend connections. :)

Apparently Cary stands for Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. lol But that's because it's a really great area to live in, very safe and close to everything. My school is in Garner and only like a 20-25 minute commute.

Good luck on your interview! I will say it was very hard to get a job in Wake county. Make sure you call principals back repeatedly. That's the only reason I got interviews. No one called me from the job fair.

I'm so excited for tomorrow, I will definitely!

hey Katie, Congratulations on the move, the job, the excitement, everything.

I use to live in Garner. I spent my third grade year at Aversboro and Vandora Springs. I don't know if they're still around, but your entry has definitely brought back some memories.

My dad use to work in Cary, and we use to frequent this ice cream store called Goodberry's. I was only 8, but it was the best frozen custard at the time.

Good luck.

Thanks. I like it a lot so far. And I think I've heard of both of those schools.

Goodberry's is still around, I've driven by like 2 of them so far.
