Oh wow so even with a choice Xander's chosen Spike. That was brave and noble of the lad to do that for Giles.

I noticed that with this Xander is calling Spike 'Master' in his head. To me that makes the biggest impact in this entire chapter.

And you're the only one that noticed it. I was hoping more would. This is his turning point, he's no longer thinking of home being with his parents and the scoobies, but at Spike's feet. You get a shiny star for being the first to notice!

Did you notice when he started calling Spike Master, instead of Sir? That was another milestone. This entire fic has been the systematic break down of one Xander Harris. I have a lot of hidden meanings like that throughout my fics. Hope you enjoy the rest of it!
