Digital Perms

Jul 01, 2012 19:14

Has anyone had a digital perm before? I am thinking of getting it done, but I heard the curls ends up being lose and straight after a few weeks. I just want a bit of volume as my hair is pretty flat. Although I think it will cost ~$150-$200? Hmm ( Read more... )

I had mine done back in December and it's still curly six months later. It really depends on the kind of hair you have. Straight hair is usually harder to retain curls or any kind of form treatment as compared to naturally wavy/curly ones.

That's good to hear that it doesn't fall away in weeks.

My hair is pretty much straight. Although I did perm it when I was younger, but most of that would have grown out and have been cut off by now. My main problem is that I am lazy and by reading more into it, it seems a lot of up keep D:.

how frustrating, lj ate my first comment... sighs...

i'd never heard of a digital perm before, so i looked it up. it sounds good, but i suppose like all things, it really depends on the stylist/salon you go to. also, black hair can have toned highlights added easily, but you can get any color you like... if you don't mind bleaching first. ^_^;;; since both perming and coloring can be hard on your hair, you'll also have to consult with the stylist, like, what order to do it in, what choices you have, etc, etc. good luck!! hope it's not too expensive. =X

enjoy your week!! and good luck with the readings. ^_~

*shakes fist at LJ*.

Gmail seems to be eating or losing my comments. I don't know why some comments end up in my inbox and others are lost in cyber space. Must switch back to yahoo.

I hadn't heard of digital perms before either. Until my sister suggested it to me. I think I might steer away from auburn and go a darker brown instead. I tend to find when I dye my hair a reddish shade it goes coppery or brassy quite quickly.

I haven't even started on my readings yet! XD;~ Gah, I wonder if I can speed read in one day instead..... >_>;;;

I have digi-perm (+ color) since march^^
it's gotten a bit looser since then, but i think i like it better than the regular perm. My hair seems to be less damaged even w/ the color treatment. i'm planning to go back to re-perm and lighten my color sometime this month though -_-

for color you can always take a piece of your cut hair ask them to test it if your scared of the change XD
Good luck on your hair!^^//

Ah, that's great to hear that your hair wasn't damaged as much as you thought. I always worry how much damage things like this will cause my hair.

I think I will steer away from reddish tones and will go for more of a dark brown instead. I don't like bleaching my hair and stripping all the colour away like that. But at least with a darker tone at least it won't be as harsh, or so I hope. Thanks for the feedback! ^^

i got a cold perm :) it's different from a digital perm in a way that when your hair is wet, it's all curly. so far, it's been 3 months and my curls still look nice and natural

I've had a cold perm when I was young and ended up looking like Michael Jackson! XD;~ It was truly bad. Even the hair dresser at the time offered me a paper bag to leave in. Woes.
