"Welcome" post

Hi, my name is Pippin! I live with a lady not much bigger than I am, but who helps me feel safe and loved. She has very fluffy blankets on which I've dutifully deposited large amounts of fur sheddings, and lots of windows to look out of. I think I'm about three years old, but don't remember much about my life before I found my forever home. I ( Read more... )

Hello, Pippin! Wow, such early walks! But I suppose it's lovelier and quieter in the morning and the air is cooler and a lot fresher. It must have been an invigorating, appetite rousing walk.

Hi, Miss Novia! Janet tells me that on the weekends (they sound nice) we can sleep later, but I don't mind early walkies. There are lots of good smells and the air *is* wonderfully cool.

Hello Pippin! My name is Sugar. My mommy thinks a lot of your new mommy-- she is very excited for her!

Lately my mommy has been putting a chain on me and making me go outside. I don't like to go outside by myself, but it is fun and exciting when I go outside with the chain on. Sometimes we get in the car, and I can sleep in the back seat. When we park, I can sniff out the crack in the window and bark. I like to bark at people who might come near my car. Only *my* humans are allowed near *MY* car.

Sometimes we just walk up and down near our house, and I can smell many things. I like smelling new things, but it's scary if there are other dogs who bark at me!

Most of the rest of the time, I like to sleep! My daddy says I am a World Champion Sleeper! Imagine that!

I think you will have a lot of cuddles with Miss Shirebound!

Sugar is right! I think you will just love living with Shirebound! She has wanted to be a doggie-mommy for a very long time, so this is quite exciting for her!

You need to take good care of her-- she deserves a lot of puppy-love, to make up for all the years she waited to find you!

((((hugs to Pippin and to Shirebound))))

Hi, Dreamflower! What a lovely name. Shirebound says I do a lot of snuffling when I dream, so maybe I'm sniffing flowers. Shirebound smiles at me a lot, and is very good at ear-scritching, so I think she's been planning dog-mommyhood for a long time. I promise to cuddle her and share the blankies at night.

*wags happily at you*

Hi, Sugar! I'm happy to meet you, and Shirebound says "Hi". I've only had two rides in the car so far, but Shirebound is taking me to a place called Petco tomorrow to get a tag with my name on it (*preens*) and maybe get to make a selection from the snack bar. I'm a very very tiny doggie, so a chain doesn't sound like it would be a good idea for me. But I like to bark at scary dogs, too. I'm always relieved to know that Shirebound is walking beside me making comforting noises.

Sleeping is one of the BEST THINGS EVER!!!!

Dear Pippin- You have a lovely owner, which you probably already know. You will be very spoiled and pampered, which you should be and already obviously are. Have a LONG and lovely life with your new human.

Hi Pippin! I'm Signe. I live in a house called Sweden, which my human tells me is on the other side of a really big pool of water from where you are. Otherwise, I'd come over so we could play, but I really don't like water. I always tell my human that, if I had wanted to get wet, I would have been a Retriever. Do you like water?

I let my human sleep on the bed with me, too (some dogs say you shouldn't spoil your human like that, but I it's all right to, just a little). I like to snuggle up next to her under the covers and rest my head on her belly - it's really nice and warm. I try to stay close to my human right now and keep an eye on her, because she seems to be broken somehow. I don't want my human to be broken, so I try to do what I can to help her get whole again.

Let me know if you need any pointers on how to train a human! Just remember, friendly nuzzles and tail wags go a lot longer than growls!

Hi, Signe! You'll never believe what happened last night... my human filled a big tub-thing with warm water about up to my knees, and put me in it! And then she got me wet, rubbed lathery stuff all over me, then got me wet again. It was a very strange thing for her to do, I think. But I got a good toweling-off, which felt wonderful, and after I ran around the apartment three times and jumped up on the bed I forgot all about it until just now! Shirebound says I smell much better today, but I thought I smelled very wonderful before that tub-thing.

I think our humans are very lucky to have us snuggling with them, especially when they're broken or need someone to talk to. I move my ears in all kinds of directions when she talks, or I hear anything at all. Can your ears move around like that?

*good morning nose-licks*

My human does that to me, especially when I get myself smelling really nice. I like to find something really smelly, like horse poo, and roll in it. But my humans don't appreciate the fragrance, so my mummy washes it off me.

I haven't experienced horse poo yet, but it sounds marvelous.
