Friends and Guns
This weekend was as I expected, fully awesome! We got into Volcano Friday night and had a mellow night of packing and diner and beer. Saturday morning (at 630am) we hit the road. impending thingies and stuff
I've mentioned my relationship to the ticking clock before and now that hammering minute hand is chasing me again.... Surgery... My surgery is in 3 days. Look I know I've spent a fair amount of blog space going on about this and yes I'm less freaked out by it than before, but still and all I'm concerned. Cruising along
So my friends we are back from our 7 (that became an 8) day cruise.. It was awesome!! The boat, the Carnival Pride, was almost a thousand feet long and 11 decks tall. 3 pools, 4 hot tubs, full salon service, Arcade, full Casino, 2 restaurants, 5 buffet stations, free room service, 1 large theater & 1 small theater, a water slide, satellite TV in ( Read more... ) -
Heart Surgery take II (and the beat goes on)
Today I went and met with the Cardio specialist to reschedule my heart procedure. Looks like we are a go for late Feb or early March. I'm less freaked out by the idea now (oh I'm still nervous, but nothing like before) and am in fact sort of looking forward to it. So, Young Daniel did not actually leave for Marine Boot until Monday morning.. (There was some unfinished schoolwork). Now he is gone and is by this AM deeply involved with the realization that the next 13 weeks are gonna suck. My Boy, The Marine...
Danny (my stepson) leaves for Marine boot camp tomorrow. I'm so very torn about this. First and foremost I'm proud of him for making a choice and doing everything he was supposed to to make it happen. I'm also proud that he chose to serve. All I ever wanted for him was a future, and he has gone and chosen one. The torn part comes from my absolute ( Read more... )
