I've spent a lot of time this year, and late last year, playing Cookie Clicker. It's a wonderful and unusual game. The longer you play it, the less it asks of you. I've been living in my apartment for 7 months now and sometimes I don't notice important things. Take, for example, yesterday. I realized that my bedroom has a heating element in it. Just like my living room.

Holy. F*cking. Sh*t. So now I don't have to go through what I commonly call "shiver sleep" every night that's cold.

One of my good friends is deeply religious. We started talking about whether gay people could marry in the Catholic Church. He insisted yes. I asked him to clarify. His response: well, a gay man and a gay woman could marry each other. I rolled my eyes so hard.

“You are technically correct, Bureaucrat Conrad. The best kind of correct.”

I went through a lot of emotional growth within the first week of the year, probably more than several previous years combined! For a long time, I've treated Live Journal as not really a thing, just some place to jot down some cute observations. But I think I'm going to try to treat it like a real journal, at least for a little while, and see how it goes.

I just learned that we have a choice when it comes to pronouncing the first "c" in the word "arctic". It doesn't have to be there if you don't want it to be.

To which I say: English is just messed up.
