Did you know that you can reuse those disposable baby wipes?

Benjamin now wears cloth diapers during the day at home.  We've used up the majority of disposable diapers that were gifted to us, and were getting ready to buy another pack, but he had a diaper rash that wouldn't heal up.  I thought maybe we should get him into the cloth diapers sooner ( Read more... )

Of course! Tell her to check out http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com if she hasn't already. It's got great information on cloth diapering.

just smart!

cloth diapers are great for sensitive skin. Glad they're working out so well!

What are you going to do about breastfeeding when you go back to work?

I'll be pumping. I've already been building my "stash" and have 25 oz frozen. I haven't been doing it regularly yet, but am starting that this week to help build up the supply for feeding and pumping.

What are you doing for Ian?

I pump, but he goes through more than I'm pumping right now. I can keep him happy on my own, but the breast pump isn't nearly as efficient. He goes through about 16oz at day care, but I'm only pumping about 12-14 during the day. He gets sent with a bottle of formula just in case he's still hungry after he's gone through all that I've sent. He hasn't used it, but I feel better knowing it's there, just in case. Also, on some days, he does get a bottle of formula, just so I can get an extra pumping in. When we got our breast pump, we got 2 cans of formula as a gift. We went through a can for the first month (to get him used to it) and we're still using the second.

I have an oversupply, so I can usualy get 6-8 ounces per pumping (that's after he's ate!!). My concern is finding the time in the day. I've never had any breaks except for lunch, so I feel a little guilty asking for 2 more, but I know they're required to give them to me as a breastfeeding mother.

I don't think it makes you a hippy, but I'll still talk to you even if it does! :-)
