I played with Bobby and Stiles Murray today.

Today I went to kitchen in the cafeteria. I had to work harder than we did last time I went (Dec 15). I had to wash pots and tend a table. We were through working at one fifteen. Then I went down to the waterfront and loafed around.

Went to Sunday School and church for junior sermon. Went down to the "Y" to Mr. Best's program. I went in the library while Grandma went to the vesper service and then we ate and listened to a speech by Mr. O.D. Soares on "The Place of the Lawyer in the Community." Then we stayed to the Sing Song and had a swell time.

Went downtown to Mickey Mouse and saw "Black Beauty." Then went to outrigger canoe club, had lunch and went swimming. A woman Gaylord knew said her sons had rented a surfboard and since they were through using it she said I could have it. Well I certainly did have fun! The only trouble was that there wasn't any breakers. Washed the car.

Went to Governor Joseph Poindexter's reception at Washington Place. I shook hands with the governor and his daughter. I signed my name in the register and put my address as Joliet, Illinois. I had a piece of ginger bread and sandwiches, cookies, a cup of tea and one of orange juice.
