I don't know if this is still open, but I thought I'd leave a suggestion anyway. ;)

font styles, font colors: Hot pink, white, black. Italic, bold, strikethrough.
Sidebar: Topbar
Layout Colors: Hot pink and black.
Control Strip: Doesn't matter. If the layout looks better in your opinion, go with it. You are the artist of course, and you know best.
