What a day. Beyond the meanial shelving and checking out books I had a talkative lunch break. Now mind you, I never talk to anyone normally...just nod my head and say yes or no. But I at last decided to have a conversation with someone. It was going so well for a while! We where talking about books and authors and hobbies and things like that, it ( Read more... )

ewww i hate those people! it's all great to have God in your life but don't try and force it on anyone else. i'm very much in the agnostic category and me living in the south with all the holy roller southern baptists' gets quite trying at times. and going back to last night...one of those people that screwed me over turned into one of those holy rollers...he popped into my life, tried to turn me over to christianity, and then decided that "God didn't mean for him and me to be together and that he couldn't see me anymore because it was too hard. he loved me a lot but he was never in love with me (mind you he told me a million times he was madly in love with me)" and blah blah. I've never had good experiences with people like that.

sorry...rambling. totally distracting myself at the moment...trying to not have to make a post that i need to make...

Ugh I went to bible camp once when I was young, it was like a cult. I dont usually care about people who really strongly believe in God and whatever, but oh my some of them were like "if you dont believe in God, your going to hell, let us save you" 0_o

I've har experiences like that as well. My next door neighbour who was quite religious tricked me to come with her to a summer camp when we were about 12 years old. She didn't mention tha it was a CHRISITAN summer camp. We were taken out there by boat (meaning we couldn't get away. well, I'm sure we could it we really wante, but it makes it a lot harder doesn't it???) And they came every night to our rooms to read from the bible for us. I was ready to kill myself by eating my own head by the time we left. And I was only 12.

I think it should be illegal to turn people to your religion. It's basically saying that your religion is better than someone elses, and surely that's not morally correct??? People should just be able to believe in what they want to. With today's mass media, it's not hard to find out about a religion if you want to....
