Two goods and one fail

Today was a quiet Sunday for me, because Katy was having 4 of her nursing friends over to study and my friends were all either coxswaining for middle aged women, in a bowling league, or tutoring for spare cash (does that make me lazy?)

When I make hollandaise, after it's done I leave it on the double boiler but turn the heat off completely and just let the steam that's in there keep it warm. You're going to serve it almost immediately, right? And I give it a quick whisk every time I walk by, just in case. The mussels sound yummy!

P.S. I don't eat Canadian bacon either; most places will leave it off if you ask. And next time you're up here, go to Sneakers. Perhaps you've been there before, but if not, they have the best Eggs Benedict anywhere. They serve it with baby spinach and artichoke hearts and it's fantastic.

Thanks for the hollandaise tip. Sneakers is in Winooski, yes?

Yes, right there in the center of town. You can't miss it.

Now that I'll have a decent sized kitchen again (and friend to help me cook!) I think I'll attempt to expand my cooking abilities when I'm back in Vt. Mussels seem like a good start! Although I'm sure I'll wait on the hollandaise until Erin's there to tell me exactly when and where I mess up, 'cause I know I will.
