Double post tonight. I went for a walk to refocus on my research, and it didn't work. This is not surprising, and maybe I should just go to sleep. The cats have certainly beat me to that. Presto is curled up on the blanket behind me.

Ernie Harwell and Sparky Anderson were summer for me as I was growing up in a small town in the UP of Michigan. I had every intention of being with nature this past weekend, and it turned out pretty well. Aside from having to work on Saturday morning, I was able to spend the rest of the weekend in the Keweenaw. My mom and step dad were up visiting and collecting agates off of Five Mile Point, and so that was my first stop. I had only intended on staying ( Read more... )

The job search has me majorly stressed out at this point. My employment at Tech ends sometimes towards the late-middle part of September, and I have nothing lined up for beyond that. I am currently living in Marquette, having arrived two days ago. After things disintegrated in Texas, I decided that it was best for me to move home and get back on my feet. So I made the 1,650 mile journey in two days, driving 15.5 hours the first day and 11.5 hours the second. I am amazed that my car was able to make the trip and not die, and ( Read more... )
