Two placards regarding current EU elections in Austria:

1) Turkey in the EU? Not under me!

2) Vote! Or would you rather have Blair, Schüssel, Chirac, and Berlusconi do it for you?

On the first, that's the racism coming out. On the second, notice that Blair is first.

In the national elections that led to FPÖ joining in a coalition gov't, placards could be seen around Graz with Jörg Haider standing with another FPÖ politician, thumbs up, with the caption "Wir sind echte Österreicher!" Leaflets were circulated implying African refugees were all drug dealers. Etc.

The worst thing about this? The elections catapulted the FPÖ into a governing coalition. In the Europawahl this year, they got spanked.

The FPÖ is ridiculous. I don't see how they're still a viable party. It's funny though, they did get spanked in Europawahl, except in Kärtner. Everybody over here in Steiermark is like: stupid Kärtner's, what the hell are you thinking still supporting this people?! Man, they really rat on each other, worse than the OU OSU thing. Then again, OSU doesn't accuse Africans *and* Eastern Europeans of being drug dealers and agents of organized crime. Sheesh.
