This morning I saw a guy in Harvard Square --middle-aged, gray-haired, with a bit of a beer gut, plaid shorts, polo shirt, and shiny things in his ears which made me say, oh wow, he has earrings!  Which I thought was totally cool, because I just love it when people behave against type (sometime I'll tell you about my wonderful tattooed nurse at the ( Read more... )

Hilarious. Middle-aged (check), gray-haired (check), with a bit of a beer gut (check, although I prefer to think of it as more of me to love), plaid shorts (when on the golf course, check), polo shirt (ditto, check). Earrings (no check). This description was perilously close to home.

Earbuds (check, at least some of the time).

They are ubiquitous, aren't they?

I don't even know if I fall into any stereotypes ... but I've seen many a person as above described. If you said black socks and sandals, I think that's the uniform for the gray hairs here in Lancaster. Oy vey.
