I'm doing the surgery

Nov 29, 2011 13:29

Next week, AFTER the choral concert.  I had my lung tapped (to be more accurate, what they really tap is the fluid around the lung) last Monday, and it didn't make me feel better.  In fact, I felt fine going in and now I'm out of breath again.  Makes no sense at all.  I thought it was all getting gradually better, but if it's going to continue, and ( Read more... )

Oh, dear Philia, good luck. I will be thinking of you.
Um, why wouldn't your crit group want your opinion? If I were a writer, I would respect your opinion. Just sayin'. :P
4 Pi's!!! Wow, if I liked pies, I'd be jealous of whoever you made them for, but I generally don't, so I'll just be impressed.

Now there is some confusion about the scheduling. Must call surgeon's office tomorrow.

Oh, I suppose my opinion's a good thing. (I mean, I like it, or it wouldn't be my opinion, right?) It's just that most of the group is so much more published than I am. My advice may make their book better but seems unlikely to make it more marketable!

Yeah, that's just messed up. I think your group needs to step up here, and pull a DWJ for you. Someone needs to submit your book to their editor directly. You're improving their books (I know this because I do) so they're getting published because, yes, they're good but they're also lucky, because let's face it, you need to be lucky, too. So it's time you get some luck too. So there. /rant

I think that only works if you're DWJ -- I doubt editors would be happy to have their authors playing agent all the time. To be fair, one of my group did connect me with my agent.

And yet I still can't finish that ECS story about Dessert Guy....working on a new direction for it, but it's not quite gelled.

Hee! (I know you didn't mean the pun, but it makes me smile all the same.)

What kind of pies?

Good luck with the concert?

I was aware of the pun, but let it stand.

2 pumpkin pies and 2 apple. They were fabulous.

I'm glad you had a good, pie-filled Thanksgiving! (We only had two, and yet my cousin was still constantly whispering, "Pie is coming...")

I hope the concert goes well, and then the surgery, too. I hope it helps, and at least they're in that order.

FIRE AND HEMLOCK. HELL YES. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I love the Bristol part. My computer desktop thingy is currently the bridge on the Avon (minus Mr. Leroy). And then the scene with the quartet always makes me feel so happy... I'll quit gushing.

Love to you, too.

Yes, I love the quartet.

Now I am getting anxious because I'm not sure they've actually scheduled the surgery, and I'm tired of not being able to breathe.

Breathing (whether for singing or for general living) is important, so I hope you get it all scheduled soon.

So are pies. I did the same combination (but half the amount) for T-giving, so I'm thinking we're in the same groove.

Hope you get all this stuff straightened out as soon as possible so you can resume the writing, critiquing, etc.

Yay, it turned out all right. I talked to the thoracic surgeon's PA, and what happened is that since I'm dealing with two hospitals, they schedule me separately -- so when I got a call yesterday for a short appointment Monday, that was just the half-hour Dana Farber portion, whereas the BWH appointments are scheduled by BWH. So I'm still on for Tuesday. Woohoo. I actually can breathe okay sometimes -- then all of a sudden I'll have a period where I just feel I can't get enough air. Creepy.

Pies! We had 11 people at my parents' for dinner (Dr. C's sister and her kids came, as well as my two brothers and one of their wives), and they all love pie. The apple ones were gone the next day. The pumpkins, the day after.

Good to hear from you again!

Good luck! That sounds scary not being able to breathe. *hugs*

I'll be thinking of you.

Wow mmmmmmm pie I really need to eat homemade pie one day. Glad you had a good thanksgiving.

Come visit and I will make you homemade pie!! Really, you have to. My mother wants to meet you, too. I brought the flag to Thanksgiving to show her. She thinks you're awesome (and, of course, she's right!).

I want Ros to come stab my medical problems and make them go away.

I am so tempted next fall! I'm trying to get a week and a half off in mid September. I won't be able to visit everyone but hopefully will get to see at least you and Pascalle!

Yay! I'm always hoping we can get to England, too, but it's so unpredictable with my medical stuff and Dr. C's job obligations.
