Reading my first Pema Chodron book right now. This lady isn't kidding. I'm not new to Buddhist philosophy, but it's a bit of a shock to go from Pema's wry, gentle treatment of the "human condition" in the first few teachings to the frank message: you don't matter (and especially your ego doesn't matter!), you will suffer, you will die.
