You don't need to be a member of the community to stake a prompt claim, but you will need to join the comm in order to post/announce what you make with it. You can claim a prompt that you provided.
Um, since I am already very far and will likely be finished in the next few days, might I just ask what happens afterwards? Because if I am not mistaken, one can only submit one post to the queue and I have my eyes on several more prompts for art/fic depending on how much time I end up having (which might not be much, but one never knows). Can I just tell you and you'll believe me that I am done without having to submit it or should I mail the second/third piece to you guys?
Let me confer with jd_junkie. This is our first time maintaining a moderated community, and I did not realize that a user could have only one post in the queue at a time. I've also, I have to confess, been feeling a little bad about making people wait a month for their stuff to post, especially now that I'm getting the sense that people are going to be producing quickly. Excitement and inspiration is so awesome! But we need to re-think now -- either bag the moderated posting, or have more frequent (and sooner) posting periods.

I claimed this prompt for fiction. Might as well do the whole package!
