First off, thanks for the suggestion :) I haven't done deskside specifically before, only helpdesks, which is part of the problem. Most of the people on ours are well below the norm, which sets their expectations pretty low. I've reminded them when I have experience with something that the rest of the team doesn't, and I still get "great! I need you to do inventory..". So I'm starting to think it's a lost cause...

I never think about someone's age, so I'm not sure I'm the right kind of person to comment on that. The only other thing I can suggest is the have a private talk with your supervisor. Honestly, a good supervisor you should be able to just point at their office and go, 'Hey, can we have a talk?' and they should be fine with that. Point out your feelings and concerns in your usual mature manner and make it clear that you want to be accepted as one of the team, and want to work in equal footing with the rest of your coworkers, but if it seems (by outward actions) that they are trying to accomodate you, go easy on you, or simply dismiss you then you are not going to gain their ( ... )
