Thanks to Katherine, who was gracious enough to put in a good word for me, I now have a job serving at Gabriel's Italian Pie. I don't have too many hours as of yet, but hopefully that will change once I show the bosses who can take care of business. I probably won't make oodles of cash working there, but it seems like a great starting off point,

Keep your enthusiasm going, Val, and learn to enjoy the funny and strange things that will happen each day. You may write the "definitive" waitress book, showing how real life takes place in a restaurant. Then, again, you may just have some fun at a job. Be sure to stop and put your feet up whenever you can--you don't need varicose veins from your first job.
