A new blog... Just what I need, one more thing to do
So, I've started a new blog, to write letters to people and things and such. Because another thing to keep track of is exactly what I need. :-P But if anyone who reads this wants to, you can check it out. :-) -
Does this make me a bad person?
I realized yesterday that sales tax in South Carolina is only 6%. My first thought was, "That's why I feel like my money lasts longer." My second thought was, "No wonder they have such terrible schools!" -
I am spending 2 years here max. Seriously.
So, I'm honestly not a big fan of South Carolina. This may prove problematic, as I'll be spending the next 2 years of my life here. I swear, though, once I finish my Master's degree, I am out of here! (Please don't tell the South Carolinians how much I dislike their state... Exciting thing #1: Got a call around 1:30, but I was in class. I didn't recognize the number, so I made Halli look it up because she had her computer. It was from Brown (!!) So, both the roommates are gone for the weekend. I had no plans for this evening, so I'm sitting at home, watching TV. Decided to watch a movie ("Meet Joe Black"). No Ireland for me this summer :-(
Obviously, I'm disappointed. They couldn't get extra funding for me to go to Ireland. But I got possibly the nicest, most complimentary rejection ever. The director (? I think) of the program said she's not even getting anyone in her lab (which is where I would have been); she called my application "particularly strong" and recommended that I ( Read more... ) -

Also, I am 1 step closer to having an awesome internship in Ireland. (But I'm trying not to get myself to psyched up about it, because it's not fun feeling devastated about things like that.) Still... :-D *squee!!* -

This? Not classy. Maybe UNC actually stands for Unfortunately, we've got No Class. Supposedly NC State doesn't have "class", but if that's what class looks like... Well, I'm glad not to have any, thank-you-very-much.
Also, fighting on the basketball court is not classy. Especially when you're ahead by 15 points with 1.9 seconds left in the game. -
