Lemme know if you'll be in NM at any point this summer, and more than likely your one visit out there will be one of the times I'm in TX. Anywho, glad you like grad school and all. Your project sounds fun, in a geeky, biology way. :)
Well, I always love seeing you but I don't know if I'll have the money and time to catch a ride to the NM. If I manage to swing something together I'll let ya know.
The whole sight thing in Invisible Man is really cool. One thing we talked about in our Invisible Man class at BC is how in order to be "seen" (i.e., recognized as an entity) you have to take on the persona that people expect, which means they're actually not "seeing" (i.e., seeing) the real you at all. If you are not what people expect you to be, you fail to exist, slip outside of reality, and thus become invisible. There's a whole bunch of other layers, but I can't seem to remember them all. Hopefully that'll help you get through it though :)
Yeah. So I got done with the book and I was kinda like "ok, whatever. This is an over-extended metaphore and i'm 100% going to take the Beatles way out: Weither or not people actually see the real you, 'all you need is love.'" (Which he does kinda say in the conclusion).
Then! Then I ran out of clean clothes. So, I put on my dress clothes not typically worn at Vanderbilt. Suddenly this lady I see all the time was absolutely convenced I was a diffrent person. I felt like Reinquest. Oh, well.
Lab is allright. I'm switching projects back to working on interferon gamma regulation. My PI doubts he has the ability to fund the stuff needed for the project I really wanted to work on. Doh!
I wish I could stop by on AIM, but I don't have internet at the moment. I might have to get a dial-up connection, or something. I'm considering bumming it at coffee shops but I don't know if the price of coffee/tea is greater than the price of internet.
