So at this point, visiting Taipei feels more like visiting my parents home more than anything else. Oliver is like a crazy aunt. Botchy David is like a slightly-off-kilter cousin. I go to aging cafés and eat meals that aren't as good as they were last year, which brings up confusing feelings of nostalgia ( Read more... )

Well, if you need a local to throw food through the window of wherever they'll hold you, give me a call.

Does Taiwan have any cases of the flu? If not, and if you're flying directly Taipei-Beijing, there shouldn't be a problem. (I hope.)

Ah, thank you. Yes, I haven't been in communication because this trip very nearly fell through completely. Taiwan has had H1N1 cases, yes, but I still think you are right, it won't be as bad coming from here as if I had come straight from North America. Did you already send me your number?
