Many of you ask why I don't like myspace. Other than the fact that I don't wish to give into this fad nor do I want people I don't want to talk to, like from highschool or some other thing to be able to contact me. THIS is one more reason why I hate myspace, and I'm relativly sure it will happen to me

It's child's play to get around having people track you down. Just sign up with a bogus first and last name. Anyone from your past who wants to track you down is likely to search your name, since it'll probably be the only thing they know about you. Gets around the company thing too.

It's not a fad. Hula hoops were a fad. This is something that's revolutionized the way people communicate and meet, and stay in touch, and I wouldn't keep my account there if I didn't think the occasional annoyances far outweighed the fun. You should sign on. Just give the people you actually want to talk to on there your username, or message them.

yet another reason I don't have my real name on myspace. not that I think there's anything that would lose me a job on there anyway.

I also found that the random messages stopped COMPLETELY when I changed my "status" in the basic info box to "in a relationship".

then again I only started it cuz I was bored off my gourd. LJ is far superior any day. good for you for resisting.

Dude, you can control the settings so only people who know your first and last name OR email address can add you. And other things like that. And you can make it private if you list your age as 15 or younger.

Its where I waste all the wee morning hours. Im a myspace whore. mhm. :]

Hey.. don't be a pansy. MySpace can be uber cool, really. It's basically just LJ.. but better almost. So yea, what all your friends said is mostly true, u can make it so no losers would befriend you. Of course I wouldn't either, because I would rather eat my own children than be on the same friends space as some of the *ahem* people (and I use that word sparingly) that you would I'm sure, have on your page.....
