I dislike the war terminology which seems to be appearing in politics more and more as time goes on. Podiums and stages are dubbed as battlefields, debates are nothing more than fights, and the "BATTLE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE" wages on now with John Kerry vs. George W. Bush. I just wanted to point out that we are producing plenty of food for now and the forseeable future, it's just not being distributed. Yeah, people are starving, and probably more so will in the future, but I don't think there is much pressure to make MORE food, but rather to distribute wealth more evenly.
"I am going to have one wife, I am not going to have more than two children."
I've been thinking about this problem... if concerned people like you have fewer childrn, and the unconcerned have more children, then there will simply be a huge population of unconcerned people, and fewer concerned. It can't be enough to simply live the way you feel everyone else should, somehow the concerned have to convince or control the unconcerned. ??? Sounds like there is something wrong there to me.

When I think of food industry, I think of all of the resources needed to produce that food and cater to the divine tastes that America has as well. Land, animals, good soil (which is becoming harder and harder to come by), etc. are some things that are effected. As the demands for food increases, the demands for resources increases, especially while catering to the spoiled, wasteful nature of population (at least in America), today. So, you're right, today's large population does not need to fear running out of bare nutrition right now, and if the entire population would become humble and proactive about food consumption, we will be good to go food-wise for a long while yet. But when I mention that population is rapidly increasing, that is going to do nothing other than put more pressure on these things, thus effecting the soil, cutting down of forest for crop land, etc., unless something considerable happens ( ... )
