So for the last week or so I keep having these nightmares that there is a fire in my house. I wake up in a cold sweat ready to grab the cat and run. I always change my smoke detector batteries when I change my clocks, and I test them regularly. Ah Maine... the birds, the lake...the mosquitos. As my uncle says, they are the size of elephants and they travel in herds. Well not quite, but close. It was such a wet June that the lake is several feet higher than normal. There are also a massive number of trees down, so pictures of me using a chainsaw will be up on facebook in a few weeks. Yes, it is raining...again. I am almost packed for Maine, and am heading down to Binghamton either tonight or tomorrow morning. We leave from there on Tuesday. 5 days left of school!!! Ok, really that means 5 days left with kids, then another week and a half at school with meetings and finals grading and cleaning out the closet. So this past weekend I went to my high school reunion. I have to say that it was a heck of a lot of fun, but in some ways it was freaky. Some people never changed, and others were completely different.
