A thought

I am on my way to a memorial service, the second of the week (first was my co-worker's father-in-law, and this time, the dad of a girl I volunteer with at TOTT). I put a reminder in my Outlook calendar for the wake. Why do we (as a society) do things like that? I wouldn't forget to go to a wake.

Weird.

I might.

Anything that's of remoted importance to me, I put into my portable brain. It's not even so much that I expect to need the reminder; it's that the extra neural reinformcement of writing it down improves the chances I'll remember.

Bah for LJ and it's non-comment-editingness.

I'd lose track of time and might be late.

I should have been more precise, I suppose... I have a photographic memory and never forget dates and times, nor do I ever lose track of time (particularly at work where I'm bored). So I guess for me, it's silly but works as a good reminder for others.
