Doctor Who

Worst ep of the whole reboot - even worse than Fear Her, if that's possible. Not worth a proper review, except to note that James Corden wasn't the worst thing about the episode by a long way.

Next week looks good though.

So not just me then.

Some very nice ideas within it though. Very reminicent of, oh, the whole RTD era in that respect.

And Corden thinks every man with a close female friend is actually in love with her. As is the writer.

Ah well.

Not just you!

I just checked and it was Gareth Roberts who wrote it - he's not usually that terrible! Something went wrong, though.

I thought it was brilliant, possibly my favourite of this series so far (it's vying with "Amy's Choice"). Well written, funny, typically excellent performance from Smith and shades of both Spaced and M R James' "Number 13".

Ha, I thought it was terribly written, both plot and script-wise :-> Amy's Choice is probably my favourite too, though.

Oh god. Should I not even watch it?

Fear Her was terribly terribly dire. I had erased it from my memory. Thanks for bringing it back.

Sorry about that ;) Quite a few people seem to have liked it, so it might be a Marmite ep like Love & Monsters.

Huh yeah. I rather liked it.

The final bit with overcoming the ship with some handwaving was a bit weak but overall it was good fun.

I mostly liked it, although not as much as I enjoyed Fear Her.

I was expecting something as bad as Fear Her, which probably helped a great deal - because my expectations were so low, I was able to enjoy it. But the actual plot was a pile of old pants.

The plot was awful, and I hated the whole "if you don't travel the world and move to the big city to work, you're a failure (unless you've found twu wuv)" thing. I might have issues :D

Yes, that was also annoying. The whole issue of whether it's 'better' to find satisfaction at home or travel in the TARDIS (or Kansas vs. Oz in another setting) is obviously meant to be central to this season, but I don't feel it's really been addressed very satisfactorily so far.

No - it's not something that can be resolved, and they seem to have come at it from all the wrong angles.
