Force MDs. Wow. I nearly auditioned to play back-up guitar for them for a tour of Japan back in the early 90s. The whole thing fell through, though (and I wouldn't have gotten the gig anyway). But I did get to talk to one of them several times on the phone, Charlie? Antoine? I forget now.
I remember this song, didn't someone (Luther?) cover it?
Such a quiet storm! I have an aversion to Anita Baker. I fell down the Gladys Knight/Fifth Dimension rabbithole last night and started listening to all the stuff my parents rocked on the E-Z listening station in the early '80s (which made most of that stuff relics from the '70s). Love me some Barry Manilow's "Weekend in New England." (Which, yes, I realize that's a complete 180 from "Wedding Bell Blues."
Why do you have an aversion to Anita? She was (on "urban radio") so very different than the dance-pop of Whitney and even the crooning of Luther wanna-bes; she feels more gospel and more smooth. But her voice is "underrated" (I haven't actually seen voice ratings); she has range and power and some subtlety.

Do you have a second family we don't know about too?

Mostly I just played in "alt" rock bands in every little bar and club in the boroughs - but was always trying to expand my CV.
