These are, for the most part, not your usual prosaic fireworks shots. I am practicing a technique of using the unfolding bursts of fireworks to "paint" abstract patterns on the focal plane of the camera. For example:

I was at Penn's Landing this past Sunday for the launch of Silent Maid, a replica of a 30 foot 1924 Barnegat Bay Cat Boat. The event made the paper. I took a few photographs.

An Airbus 320 comes gliding in low over the George Washington Bridge on a bright, clear afternoon and gracefully ditches in the Hudson near the Jacob Javits Center and no one makes a video, or photograph, of the actual landing? The closest I've seen is this.
