resolutions, then and now

Slightly belated, but here is this year's end-of-the-year resolutions and other stuff post!

Here is last year's entry for reference.

I guess I'll start with the travel stuff for this year, which was quite a lot! I don't have my calendar with me, so I'm going to check Flickr instead ( Read more... )

Babies are pretty portable -- we took Jasper to New York at 8 months and to Denver at just under a year, as well as multiple road trips to visit family. The New York trip was a highlight of the year and we all had a great time. I was a little surprised that it wasn't harder. But traveling (while fun and rewarding) can be sort of weird and stressful, and taking care of a baby (while also fun and rewarding) can also be sort of weird and stressful. Put them together, and it's not exponentially worse, it's just still sort of weird and stressful. And the fun parts are even more fun. (YMMV)

Good resolutions. Can't wait to see pictures of the baby and the house!

That's good to know! We will also be broke next year after this house thing, but I would love to do a wine country weekend to celebrate being able to drink wine again!

Yay!

Babies can totally go on road trips! Utah is but a road trip away! Camping is fun and inexpensive! Those are all hints.

Also: I would like to point out that life is unpredictable, and yours shifted to such an enormous degree that your priorities at the beginning of the year just--misaligned. You didn't fail at resolutions, you just weren't psychic.

Also also: holy fuck, I love that lighting website. I found the totally perfect pendant for our entryway!!!1! It will be the pielight of our foyer. Hahahaha! Sorry.

I shake my fist at those Orcas!

But I'm still so glad you came to Seattle. I heard the other day that Lunchbox Lab closed (with plans to reopen elsewhere) and I'm glad you got to witness that little piece of insanity before it's in its spruced-up new digs.

I'm going to have to rethink only-reading-your-posts-that-come-through-Google-Reader, because I've missed the headline news -- mega congrats on expecting a baby!!!!!!!!! That's totally awesome!
