my job is as a professional reader. this makes me ask what the book you were reading before catch-22 is. what was it? why was it terrible? can i borrow catch-22 from you after you're done? that's definitely on my list. for my job.
The book that I was reading before Catch-22 was "Lord Valentine's Castle" a book that I read years ago but never completed the series for, so when I found myself wondering what to read I went out and bought it again. However, now I see that it is really really bad. Good fantasy writers make up certain parts of their stories but leave the rest of the workings of the world intact so as to create some common ground with thier readers, Robert Silverburg on the other hand decided to invent everything from vegitables to trees. And if that isn't annoying enough he sold himself short, everything is quite simple, the government, the planet, everything. I eventually got fed up reading imagery about silver trees with blue leaves that are filled with gas and float away like balloons to reproduce.
You can certainly borrow Catch-22 when I'm done reading it. In fact this copy is pretty cool in that I got when I was at the Harvard bookstore in Boston called the Coop last year!
About time you're back. And when I get around to Coldstone, you don't need to give me a discount. Just put 4 extra Reese's cups on it and don't charge.
