mmm, generally you're right, but there's no harm in teaching kids that theres other ways to be? I personally think that considering the size of American society, and others like it, that nothing but capitalism will work with them. Communism works in practice on a very small scale, when a community is small enough to keep tabs on itself. In this case, I also think they are trying to instill certain morals, beyond sharing, but also the concept of ownership and how that relates to power. It doesn't teach them how a person in power should act, but it does let them see how those who do and do not have power feel.
Its also informative on a larger scale, in terms of how power structures can form and solidify so quickly. People who are already aware of how these things work may be kind of "well, no shit" but it might be an interesting teaching tool for older students, in terms of questioning the political structure and all that.
