when I tell the story to my grandchildren it will be a 3ft rat, and we will have wrestled for two hours before I finally managed to subdue it with a noose made from the wire in my bra.

Oh no, not yet, sorry. I meant Bulgakov and Nabokov. Dostoyevsky will have to wait until I am slightly less busy - all short stories and novellas at the moment.
