Unfortunately, I have no talent at all for writing fiction. But I will definitely read anything that puts a better spin on STID.

I can't believe I actually prefer TOS Pike's fate. At least he got to be heroic and save a bunch of cadets, and Spock was so loyal to him that he risked the death penalty for him.

AOS Pike's death was just pointless. And since AOS Pike's relationship was with Kirk, I thought Kirk should have been with him when he died. I could have done without that Spock mind-meld.

Either way, apparently it just sucks to be Captain Pike.

At least TOS Pike had 11 years as Captain of the Enterprise, with Number One as his XO.

I'm pretty much planning on spending the rest of my days in this fandom only writing AAOS (Alternate Alternate Original Series).

I'm with you. I cried at that scene too, and watching Kirk cry - he had lost his father figure, a mentor who believed in him. So taraljc - I'm with you -some denial fiction! Alternate-alternate universe fanfic.

I've sorta kinda dabbled at starting fic, but since I've never written any fiction of any sort before it's not easy for me. But I love reading what you and circ-bamboo, igrockspock and many others write... So, dear writers, bring us a bit of cheer....

Oh, I'm 1300 words into a story. But it's not, erm... all that cheerful? Then again, it can't be any worse than No Small Dreams.

Off on a crazy tangent...did anybody else notice that in STID Carol Marcus had blue fingernail polish? I noticed that late in the movie and could not help but think it was a bit of an homage to Number One. (Then again I cd well be overthinking that. Wdn't be the 1st time)

I'm staying away from AOS fandom at the moment while I write (I almost never read while I write). But as soon as it's finished and beta'd and posted, I plan on diving into AO3 to see what I've missed.

I saw the movie, erm... not under the best of circumstances. So I couldn't really see Carol's nails. But I'm definitely going to go back and look now!

I'm in denial. I've decided the same thing that happened to kirk happened to pike. I mean I'm sure Marcus had some of his blood and so he gave it to pike who is then recovering and then Marcus goes off and gets killed.
