Dan and I built a hookah table on Wednesday night. It's like a foot tall and I started to cover it with fabric. Yesterday morning, my mom comes in my room and tells me that she knocked over the vase and it shattered

Yeah, but she is tight on money right now. I wouldn't let her buy me a new one, but it would have been nice of her to at least offer since she broke it.
