On Monday March 13th I am getting my braces off. GETTING MY BRACES OFF!!!!! I am so fricken happy right now. You have no idea. (well if you have had braces then maybe you do) Well the lady was putting the wire back on and stuff it hurt really bad. I just kept thinking last time last time. I can't wait!!! 26 days!!! Any advice for someoene just getting there braces on adn who's in college? I'm so jealous that you're almost done!

I was just searching blogs looking for help with rubber bands. I just got wired 2 weeks ago and am getting rubber bands tomorrow and am freaking out about it. For starters, do they pop in the middle of when you're speaking? (I knew a girl in middle school who had both of hers pop out during an oral presentation, wtih one landingn on the teachers shirt and her turning purple with embarrassment!) Secondly, do they hurt when you wear them? And finally, do they just look kinda dumb? See, I'm a college student (the ONLY one in a dorm of 500 that's wired) and I don't see if its unusual to have rubber bands or not (or even have braces for that matter!) I'm DAve and I go to NYU.

If I'm too old ot respond to, then don't worry, I dont want to get you into any trouble. Regards and congrats again.

Also, is 30-36 months a long time for me to be incarcerated?

Hey Braces aren't that bad. My rubber bands have broke before but thats just cause i would get bored and stretch them out with my tongue. But if your not a loser like me and don't do that then if your just talking you should be fine. Singing is another thing but you probably don't sing. (I do) When you put them in for the first time they do hurt but after that you really get used to it. If you wear them like ones then don't wear them at all then it hurts if you go to put them in cause your not used to it. As far as looking dumb it depends on were there contected at. Mine were always from the very front to the very back cause my top jaw stuck out i guess. But I'm sure they won't look to bad. I always think that if you just put it on and not worry about what it looks like or not even think about it then it won't really matter. My braces were on from Aug. 2004 till tomorrow morning so for 20 mouths (I think) every person is different though. If you wear your rubber bands like you should and do everything right then it might be faster. ( ( ... )
