My roommate icicle33 is a really big hp fan, and she has dragged me into fandom with her. Don't hate me, but I used to think fanfiction was really lame. I thought only highschool girls wrote fanfiction and that it was all about Twilight or Mary Sues. When I accidentally found out my roommate not only read but wrote

Hi! Welcome! I had to laugh at your first paragraph, because I did EXACTLY the same thing with my friend, and now it's been five years and I have spent SO much time writing and reading fic that it's terrible (and brilliant).

I agree that Ron and Hermione are the best couple in the books, I think that's why I can never read Harry/Ron, but my friend got me onto Harry/Draco, and I fell like a tree.

Anyway, YAY for having you on board. I know icicle and she is lovely, so any friend of hers has to be worthwhile. I hope you have a great time in fandom and on LJ as well as Tumblr (it's a little bit different, but in a good way).

Er, as to questions, what's your favourite hair dye colour?

Hello! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm happy I'm not the only one who was initially weary of fanfiction. I think I'll always love Ron/Hermione best, but there's no reason why I can't have Harry/Draco and Ron/Hermione.
I'm not sure about hair dye color because I'm naturally a blonde and always just highlight my hair blonder, but I suppose I like black hair like Harry's. If I were ever to change, it would be black.

p.s. your name looked familiar and I couldn't figure out why...then I remembered it's because you were on the list of top authors to read that icicle gave me. I can't wait to check out your stories. = D

Hello! Sorry I hope that Twilight comment didn't come off the wrong way. I just had never really heard much about fanfiction or fandom before icicle. My assumptions were obviously wrong. It took awhile for me to admit I liked slash because I kept thinking of Harry and Draco as 12 year olds fighting, but now I think it's hot. It's nice to meet you.

Yes, my previous idea of fanfiction, when I first discovered it and began reading and writing it, was "this is embarrassing" and "this is what twelve year olds do." Significant, since I was 40 at the time, now 41. Now, I don't care about that. I love to read and write fan fic - it is my main hobby. And fandom on Livejournal is such a nice community.
