Where have all the post boxes gone?

I had to send some papers to Chennai. Nothing massively urgent, but I ended up couriering them anyway. I’d ideally have preferred to post it because the courier companies get all antsy about delivering out of city limits and you need someone to be available to sign for receipt ( Read more... )

oh the angst!, huh?

I know what you mean! There are those two red and green ones near my house in Delhi as well. And although I know that there is a post office in the vicinity of my house in Hyderabad, I have never seen it. And I roam a lot. O_O

You and me both:o)

I've spotted the PO I thought existed... it is ridiculously nearby. but still no post boxes! It is most saddening.

Heh. I remember the old red postboxes...very Victorian they seemed to me.

It's too bad post offices in India don't fly huge Indian flags outside. I swear that's the only way I can identify a US post office from the street (oh...and of course, by the giant "United States Postal Service" letters on the side of the building...*facepalm*)

:)) I think the POs now are more recogniseable by the speed post sign that hangs outside:) they really need to be more obvious! I finally spotted the one that I thouht was nearby!

Yes, somewhere further ahead of MG isn't it? I think I've seen the one near Divyashree chambers. There's one at Museum Road too - or at leats there's definitely a Speed Post sign. But there's definitely no post box on the roads:( I think I vaguely remember seeing one on CMH road years ago but I'm positive it's not there any more.
