What a horrible situation to be stuck in :( I guess the husband really can't help it either, if he's in love and thinks the main character is too, but it's still a bad situation for both, a marriage based on lies is bound to implode in one way or another. I've always dreaded this kind of situation, where you feel obliged to say 'yes' but are not into it completely. Fortunately that never happened.
