Ok, so I'm getting really very very pissed off at my body. I'm still maintaining my weight at around 147ish. When I get strict, it just stays. When I cheap a little, or a lot, it stays. I'm mean... COME ON ALREADY!!!!! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I know... I should be "happy" that I'm not gaining. But seriously people... I've been maintaining ( Read more... )

the only thing that's helped me to lose the stubborn last few pounds has been my interval training program. seriously. i feel like all the exercise i did before that was sort of a waste of time (other than that i enjoyed doing most of it) now that i know how to exercise *effectively*. and i've also found that no matter what kinds of food i'm eating, i can only really lose weight if i'm putting in less calories than i'm expending. i had to do some serious calculations to figure it out, but it was so helpful that i don't even count anymore...it's become second nature.

check out the heart rate monitor and personal training program at breakthroughhealthandfitness.com not to sound like a sales person, but for the price of a gym membership you could give this program a try. you can do any activity you want with the monitor, even swimming, as long as you're reaching your target heart zones. it also gives you a personalized program for each day that you want to exercise, based on your input. i can't tell you how much i love it, mama.

when I'm nursing (which is, umm, always lately) I'm like that--I can either eat perfectly, watch every bite I put in my mouth, exercise and fight off a few ounces a week or I can eat whatever I want and be a sloth stay the same. it's no fun.

I am still low carbing and working out like a freak and my weight hasn't moved in weeks and weeks. I'm bummed too. Sucks.

One possible positive bit about this: muscle weighs more than fat, so if you've started working out, you may be gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time, which would mean you end up weighing the same or even more, although you've lost fat.
And, if that's not the issue, I also feel your pain. I was stuck for like 2 years, where I could not get below a certain level. I only beat it when I did the fast/liquid cleanse deal about 6 months ago. I've been back at my lower weight ever since. But, I swear nothing less drastic would have broken it.

Lifting weights speeds up your metabolism, cardio does not. So while I still do cardio exercise for health reasons, I'm all about the weight lifting. That helps at lot when I got stalled.
