I'm in need of a long range (more than 150 ft) pendant system so that my grandmother can notify one of her caregivers anywhere on the farm if she needs help. Our cell phone service is unreliable out there, so a phone relay doesn't work. We'd like one that doesn't route to 911 automatically so that she's free to use it in non-emergency situations. I spend a lot of time reading on a chicken message board (shock!) and every time I read something about "artificial light in the henhouse" I spend the rest of the day singing/humming Artificial Life by Operation Ivy. Somehow I don't think anyone else on the chicken board does. Oh well.

My sister, aunt and uncle are stuck for a second nite in Idaho Springs, CO. I am posting this on the off chance that anyone I know on the internet is familiar with this place...
no taxis, I've learned that much.

Wow. We were given two HUGE baskets of zucchini. It seems to be the vegetable that everyone plants and no one eats. I've split two giant ones for the chickens, who love the seeds the most and now I'm going to make some soup for lunch tomorrow, maybe slice some and bread them then bake them for tonite's dinner.
