WAH WAH WAAAH

Between Dir en grey's Twitter, Myspace, and all the whining I'm seeing on LJ, the past few days have been a huge reminder of why I spend so little time in online fan communities. Due to the limited number of performances in the upcoming US tour, most of the commentary consists of bitching and whining over how "unfair" it is that Dir will not be ( Read more... )

WOW! Way to summarize my exact opinion on people who bitch about tour schedules!

I haven't been a Dir en grey fan as long as some who have listened to them, only since '03-ish. But even then, the mere idea of them coming to the US was just a fantasy. Or any other Japanese band, for that matter. It's kind of sickening how when you give a fanbase a little, they suddenly feel like anything less is absolutely incompetent because they are entitled to more.

Yeah, sometimes I'll post an entry all like "WTF THIS BAND HATES ME FOR NOT COMING HERE," but I'm over it within a day. I've come to terms with the fact that whenever a band I enjoy comes to Miami, it is an absolute miracle. Because frankly, it's not a practical location. Most tours are too lazy to go allll the way down to the tip of Florida, they'd rather pick somewhere further north where they can continue on their way without backtracking too much. :c

Yes and I've been disappointed every time Myv shows up on the west coast only, or california and texas only.. but this time he's hitting NY. Wheeeeee!~

Ugh, I couldn't believe some of the tweets people were sending @Direngrey. "OMG WTF WHAT ABOUT THE SOUTH YOU EXPECT US TO GO ALL THE WAY TO NYC?!?!?!?!"

Uh...no. They don't EXPECT you to do anything! They can't please everyone! Say they went to Baltimore instead of Chicago, then people in Chicago would be mad! If they went to Florida instead of Colorado, then people in Colorado would be complaining! They do multiple shows in certain places because they have an especially large fanbase there. Can Bumfuck, Oregon get a line around the block of fans camping 24 hrs in advance like in LA? Likely not!

I agree with all of this. Although I was a bit miffed that there were no shows listed in Atlanta or Florida, I got over it within a day and that is NO REASON to bash the band OR management, at least not publicly, keep that to yourselves, you know?
ALTHOUGH...I will say the tour is very special, two dates in TX then going to Brazil THEN going to NY...it made me do this number: O_o. but then I guess they have the plane already to do that? That and the fact it's a three day show and that always has me worried for Kyo's voice >_< I worry way too much about that man to be healthy.

Anyways, I agree, long story short~
