Def think the best way to put on weight will be to work towards putting on muscle. I know going to the gym is a right drag, but if you did weights in conjunction with a high-protein diet then I bet you’d see some pretty healthy differences.
Nuts are def the way to go - have a bag of natural-unsalted with you at all times and snack. Cashews are great - though roasted salted ones will kill you with cholesterol and high blood pressure. Dried fruit won’t hurt either - though don’t go eating loads all at once or you’ll get chronic shits… Chicken breast, ham, or tinned mackerel at lunch, then something with turkey for dinner & you’re set.
Either that, or just suck all the fat out of my muffin top and inject it straight into your butt…

You might wanna try protein shakes and the like - if you're looking to put on muscle that's paramount.
