I had the whackiest, craziest shit happen at work today.

I try not to discuss religion or politics in group situations to be begin wtih, but this whole Christian vss Atheist thing is just soooo... I don't know why it has to be the way it is. A lot of Mark's friends are atheist which is fine with me, alls I care about is if people respect each other, nevermind what they know or believe, but they're always up in arms about trying to convince me to not believe in God. I wish people would just leave each other alone, period.

Second, I do think it's important not to be afraid to tell people that I'm an atheist when asked. Although I didn't bring it up, I won't hide it. It can be enlightening, a la there'd be so many less homophobes if everyone came out and all the homophobes realized they knew someone gay, it could be the same for atheists. In any case, I appreciate the "no talking politics or religion", but I do like to have a nice discussion about both of those from time to time, if the right people are involved. Obviously, this time, they weren't.

So you're sort of brave to be atheist for... you know, multiple reasons. If that doesn't make me sound like an idiot myself.

I will say this, and I think it's true for most Christians turned atheist. The possibility of hell, although a distinct impossibility in my mind, is pretty damn scary.
