It is a bizarre night. Gmail popped up "Michael Jackson dead at 50," and someone is having a screaming match in the hall. I am going to sit here and sing "Billie Jean" under my breath and try not to hear.

I'm off to see if "Thriller" is on YouTube. Laugh if you want; when I was eleven he was the coolest thing on earth.

Dude, "Thriller" and "Smooth Criminal" are my two favorite music videos of all time. There is video of me moonwalking (or attempting it) at my second birthday party while MJ played. Note to self: Must teach Raven moonwalk...

I remember trying to moonwalk. After twenty years I can almost do it.

Oddly enough I had to go out and run an errand last night and heard it on the radio - otherwise I wouldn't have known until this morning. I had to call Brad I couldn't believe it.

Thriller was my first cassette, it was given to me by my teen uncle with my first boombox for Christmas.

It was my first cassette too, except mine was pirated from a fourth grade classmate's.

"Thriller" was the first album I became aware of independently from my parents' music.

(We had THE Farrah Fawcett poster over our basement stairs when I was very young, too).
