I've ranted about how yummy kangaroo is before (and how healthy and environmentally sound it is), and now it is recipe time. Cos i've just made the yummiest stirfry with the tenderest meat ever!!!

On wednesday, a couple of friends came over and brought The Island of Dr Monreau with them - a 70's scifi based on a H.G.Wells book (who wrote War of the Worlds) in which a mad scientist, on an otherwise unpopulated island, is injecting animals with serum to gradually turn them into almost-humans. sigh , i don't want to be whinging about my thesis the whole fucking time, but people do keep asking about it, and it does make up 80% of my life right now.

dad asked me today "so what do you have left to do?"
and i said

80% of the house doesn't have power. Luckily, the 20% that does involves the kitchen so we still have a working fridge and, far more importantly, a kettle for the making of tea.*

It's not a bad song once you get rid of Kylie and Jason.

New York band, the Mammals, have an awesome anti-Bush song called The Bush Boys on their album, Rock That Babe. Aside from making commentary on the war etc, it attacks what many perceive as the President's patrician sense of entitlement ( Read more... )
