some update

haven't been super vocal lately, things have been intense and i haven't had much internet access until i got my netbook last week. the biggest most recent news is that my restaurant is closing. i had just gotten comfortable in the job and with the idea that i was making solid money, i am 2 months in with one to go for health benefits to kick in,

I'm sorry about the job thing, but the up-side is that the restaurant is probably known well enough that the places you might apply to won't have to wonder why you're looking for a job. Everyone you'll be interviewing with will know someone who they think would be a good employee but who's been laid off in the last year or so.

It's good that you can see the balance with your roommate (ie - not that he's some crazy or terrible person, just that you don't have the positive interaction to balance the negative). If things don't work out with Heidi, at least you will come off as reasonable to any potential new roommates.

Given how connected Todd is with folks there, is there any way he can put the word out for new jobs and/or housing? It'd be great if you could find someone who knows someone who knows him (so the connection isn't so close that you'd have to see him if things don't work out, but still close enough to make things easier for you now).
