narrowly missed a major case of foot-in-mouth tonight, and somehow reason won over thoughtless impulse. one of my least favorite coworkers has been growing his hair out since he retired from the army (he's 39, btw), and i made a comment on how long it's getting. all your boot coveting talk made me go look again and i found my perfect boots, and they had them at the store in my size and more than 30% off the list price, so now i too have a pair of boots i probably shouldn't have bought, with heels that are probably a little higher than my body would like. still, i dig them a lot, they're good quality with ( Read more... ) -

is it ever okay to use racially charged terms?
i saw this article in our paper today while talking on the phone with someone, and heard myself go through the whole range of responses as i read the article to see what had actually happened. basically, the public is in an uproar because a white female mayoral candidate criticized the black male deputy mayor, and in so doing used the term HNIC.

lame weekend...
haven't been feeling full of awesome the past few days. work has sucked, no money, sent home because it's too cold for people to sit outside, stuff like that. since i'm on a mission now to save money to finance a big city move, it's especially hard to have a week where i'm making maybe $250. but all i can do is hope next week is better... and hope ( Read more... ) -
