My Chemical Romance - May 6th 2011 - Tower Theatre, Philadelphia

May 07, 2011 13:50

So, last night was a bit of a clusterfuck. The entire day was, actually.

I got up at 6am to catch a bus to Philadelphia. Got there around 2.30pm, half an hour late because we got stuck in Jersey traffic.

Then I waited for intothenightx and her friend Jennifer to come pick me up but they had trouble getting our rental car so I got stuck in the Philly 30th street station for a few hours.
It could have been worse. At least I had a place to sit and very spotty internet (my laptop ran out of battery quickly so I couldn't even entertain myself with fic).

When the girls finally came to my rescue, we got to the venue and decided it would be stupid to wait in line so we went and got pizza. There were a lot of people queuing already and that was completely unnecessary because everyone had seats.

That was my problem with the venue. Seats. And I managed to get one on the balcony, so high and far away that I couldn't see too well.
I was also on my own up there because my friends had orchestra seats. They had a much better view of everything.

The Architects were amazing. Too bad for them the first row of seats weren't really moving a lot. They did tell people to get off their seats but that didn't last longer than five minutes. I was bouncing up and down on my seat, wishing I was in the pit.

Things got worse when Thursday took the stage. I think I might have been one of the very few people who loved Thursday. They were just as good as they were in Boston. They didn't change much to the setlist, just switched around a song so they could play something from Full Collapse.

Then it was time for MCR. I must say that even though I was up on the balcony, the crowd was awesome. We stood up the entire time and sung every song.
There were a couple of kids next to me who didn't move a single time. They just watched the show but didn't even move a muscle.
The setlist was relatively similar to the one in Boston, if not the same.
There was a cute moment when Ray and Mikey hugged and another one when Frank stole Ray's beer. That's all I could see from such a distance.

The people in the orchestra seats managed to make a decent mosh pit and I was really jealous I wasn't with them.

After the show, I got to see Brandon and Zach from the Architects again and told them how awesome they were. I definitely have a crush on this band. Brandon said he was frustrated about the seating situation and will be taking it out on us at Starland. I hope he rocks our faces off tonight.

I didn't get a lot of videos or pictures. I did have a full view of the stage but it seemed pointless to try and take a decent picture from the far side of the world.

We left before MCR came out because we needed to find our hotel. We got lost on our way there but eventually found it. We are currently three girls sharing a bed made for two.

Overall, it was a good show but it would have been a thousand times better if the venue didn't have stupid seats.

I don't have high hopes for the Jersey show tonight because I've heard rumors that people are already waiting at the venue. I think this is bullshit. Hopefully, I still can make my way up the pit during the show tonight and get a good view of Frank and his glorious face.

PS. I added 2 videos from Boston on the Boston recap post.

shenanigans, thursday, my cupcake romance, us 2011, my friends can beat up your friends, architects, concerts
